Description
This course will teach fundamental design principles and processes that incorporate risk-informed decision-making framework to improve consistency and quality of levee designs and encourage active communication from all parties in the process.
Training Goals:
Improve consistency and quality of designs
Integrate risk-informed evaluations into design process
Establish a common/shared language and foundational understanding of levee design principles and processes
Promote collaborative approach to design
Explain evolving USACE guidance for design
Format: A three-day (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.), in-person course that includes some pre-requisite reading, multi-discipline lectures and demonstrations as well as homework, hands-on individual and group exercises, and group discussions.
